REUNION

Logline:

A young Mexican American who just finished his time in rehab returns home and must finally confront his brother about a family tragedy.

Synopsis:

Alex returns home from rehab. Maria is happy to see him but his brother, Jacob, is not. Alex tries to mend his relationship with him but Jacob gives him the cold shoulder. Jacob lashes out at his family in frustration of Alex which results in a fight between them both. During their fight, flashbacks reveal why Jacob hates him since Alex is responsible for their father’s death. Maria tries to stop their fighting but gets hurt by Jacob. Alex flees and tries to cope with his trauma by attempting to drink again until Maria catches him in the act. Maria reassures Alex that she knows that he tried to save his dad in desperation. Jacob eavesdrops on their conversation. Jacob realizes that he’s no better than his brother and gives Alex a chance to mend their relationship together.
